Beijing Antimony metalconcluded prices have been up slightly as smelters are insisting on raising offers, citin an antimony ore shortage, traders said.

The contractual prices for antimony mental grade 99.65% have inched up tp RMB 77500-80500/tonne, from RMB 77000-80000/tonne seen last week.

“prices for antimony metal have moved up slightly since the start this week”. a smelter source in Hunan province confirmed . he revealed that it is hard to obtain enough antimony ore and that this is the main reason for the price rise.

“but market demand for antimony mental has failed to increase and a furthur rise in prices is seen as hard” a seconf Hunan-based smelter source said.

Meanwhile, the export market is dull. Offers for antimony metal are static at USD 13000-13200/tonne FOB. Concluded export prices have been raised to usd 12200-12500/tonne FOB last week. but few marterial has been traded in the spot market over the past few days.

“the slow global economy will keep affecting world consumption for antimony metal. Any export price rally in the in the coming weeks will be quite slow,” a trader in Guangdong province said.
